With bold red and white markings, Sarasa Comets are a very striking goldfish breed. Good specimens are a match for Kohaku Koi. They can compliment other colour forms such as shubunkins and yellow goldfish beautifully. Goldfish are social animals and should always be kept in groups but these can consist of other single tailed Goldfish varieties
These are a great choice for the garden pond. Hardy and long-lived,
Goldfish are hardy and adaptable fishes, but they prefer hard water. If kept outside in a Pond it should be at least 50-60cm deep in places to minimise the stress of cold winter weather and hot summer days. During cold weather, this deep zone should remain undisturbed by water circulation and will provide fish a refuge from the cold.
